The Relaxation Station

Deep breathing and positive images often help people to feel calm and at peace.  In this section you will learn how to use these important skills and how they can help you to relax.  You can use the skills when you are beginning to feel tense or just because!  Some good times to use these skill include:

  • Just before bed to lower anxiety and prevent nightmares
  • When you feel stressed or overwhelmed
  • When you feel frustrated or angry
  • Anytime that you want to feel calm

Practice, Practice, Practice!

Practicing relaxation skills is the best way to get good at them.  The more you practice them, the better they will work to calm you down in a time of stress.  Practicing at a time when you're already at ease is the best way to master these skills!
