Oversimplifying

Sometimes survivors of trauma conclude it was their fault… that they are completely to blame for what happened. But most events, even traumatic ones, are caused by a many different factors. Every event depends upon details of the situation, such as who’s there, where you are, and even chance.

Blaming yourself only makes you feel worse, and doesn’t get you anywhere. Try to focus on the things that you can control… those are the things that will help you move forward.
