Create a Relaxing Scene

Start by closing your eyes and picturing a safe, perfect place. This place should be somewhere that you can go to be alone, comfortable, and free from worry. Take deep breaths and allow yourself to let go and visualize every detail of your scene. The more details you imagine, the more this image will work to help you calm down.

  • What does it look like?
  • What does it sound like?
  • What does it smell like?

Pick the option that fits best with a scene you would find relaxing and safe. There are three beautiful scenes for you to choose from… Try to just let go, and enjoy the feeling of deep relaxation as you take a mini vacation.  If you think positive imagery will work for you, you should practice it at least once a day for a week.  Try to spend about 5-10 minutes on this exercise every day. Once you have a place in mind, you can go there mentally whenever you want to calm down throughout your day.
