Getting support from others can be very important when you’re dealing with trauma because it is a time when you need to feel comforted and safe. Let’s learn more about why people isolate themselves, how to recognize it, and how to begin reaching out.

Isolating yourself as you deal with a something tough is common and can work differently for different types of people, in different situations. You may not even realize that you are pushing people away, or you may feel that the trauma itself makes you different from others. Some teens just prefer to deal with certain aspects of the trauma on their own.
